I recently interviewed a doula on the podcast, and it only made sense for me to chat with a (former) midwife next.

If you’ve listened to my birth story or the podcast at all, you’ll know my obstetrical care during my pregnancy was delivered by midwives. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and can honestly say that I had no complaints. Did my birth go exactly as planned? No – I didn’t really have a ‘plan’ to begin with but a wish list – but still, no. My midwives (and my husband of course) made my experience amazing though, so I was happy to get to chat with a former midwife from my province and help give people more information about midwifery care (you can see my recent post on why I loved midwifery care here).
The Birth Experiences series is a set of interviews with moms sharing their unique birth story, and answering common questions about their different experiences. What is labor & birth like? Well it’s different for everyone – tune in to hear about all the different ways it can go and the variety of challenges that can be faced. No birth experience is exactly the same.
In this episode, I am interviewing a former midwife about her former role; past experiences with deliveries and pre and postnatal care; and having her answer some specific question from listeners.
Kim is a former midwife in the province of Ontario. Tune in to learn more about her!
You can find the podcast on all major podcast platforms, under Elephant in the Womb! There is also a tab above that will take you to all the episode summaries, mom biographies, and an in-blog player of the episodes!
